Today we took a trip out to visit Sheffield register office and the surrounding areas to get an idea of where we will be on the day and photo locations. It was ridiculously windy - fingers crossed the mild weather returns for the 28th - but we managed to get around and see everything we wanted to see and get plenty of photos. I'm really pleased with the location and the register office inside is amazing.. I can't quite believe it's costing so little.. it's like a stately home or something. I'm pretty sure it's a listed building.. a bit special! Just around the corner there's the Peace Gardens which are obviously a little lovelier in Summer but I was pleased to see the fountain still operates in the colder months. For a little warmth there's an indoor "Winter Gardens" in which I imagine we will have pictures taken with the children so as not to expose them to the January air. All in all it was a productive trip and I've come over all excited having seen the place we will be married in. Now I apologise for what is about to become a very picture heavy post but I found it difficult to pick and choose my favourites from the day.. here's what I narrowed it down to...

thanks! we dnt have a photographer so relying on friends and family eek lol
ReplyDeleteI think this is a lovely register office to get married at, esp compared to Doncaster, Wakefield and Pontefract! I saw your video on this and just wondered, are you not bothered about all the people who are around and about, coming and going?
ReplyDeleteAlso, one thing, my aunt and uncle married in a reg office in 2003 and she relied on friends an family for pics but now she says her biggest regret is not getting a photographer...she is currently debating whether to have a vows renewal and she says she will be getting a photographer 100% She said she'd had a low key wedding and relying on other's piccies, wasn't special enough x
I went to sheffield today and there was a vintage fair there today :(
