Victoria's Secret - Hair Envy

So I'm thinking how to wear my hair on the big day... I'v considered an up do and will no doubt do some YouTube trials but I think I'm going to go for long and wavy, a la Victorias Secret ... ahhhh... beautiful!
I may need a little help with the length from extensions but that's no problem.
It's got me thinking about colour.. I have no idea how soon this wedding will be but I should be prepping now just in case. I think I'm gonna get some caramel highlights... something between a blonde and a brunette... and a tan is essential, of course!

What do you think of these beauties? How can you not love them?
I'm favouring Miranda Kerr's do...

Opinions?

Screw City Hall

Well... As you know our second choice of wedding venue was Sheffield City Hall. It was my Mums idea which I fought at first but the more I looked at it the more I came around to it. The building is beautiful, the surroundings very picturesque, would get some great shots of th day by the fountain or the local botanical gardens. My parents and a couple of friends could attend.. it seemed a good choice. So it was decided. I happened to email the Hall today and request a brochure, I wanted to see the rooms, costs etc, and was told our party was too small. Apparently their rooms are too large for such a small ceremony. Huh!
I must say I was never in love with City Hall as our venue, I wasn't dying to get married there, it just seemed to please everyone else and I didn't hate it. But it was no Vegas.
Vegas was always the dream. It was a tough one 'cause holidays need to be booked, money needs to be saved and these things must be planned. The beauty of a vegas wedding is you can elope at a moments notice with no planning and without telling a soul.. that wouldn't work for us. More frustrating is that Lee is still waiting for his divorce to go to court so who knows how long it will be until we can actually do this thing. ARGH! I'm ready to tear my hair out at this point.
Anyway... All being well we will put some money aside and be able to book the trip as soon as his divorce is final. I do really still love the Chapel Of The Bells, it's so beautiful and seriously fantastic value.
I will update soon.. in the meantime I'm going to be uploading more  ideas posts.. just to distract me from the everyday.

Bouquet Schmouquet..

I have been concentrating so hard on this wedding not being traditional I completely forgot about flowers!
Should I still have a bouquet? I'm not doing the whole bridesmaids deal so I just thought I wouldn't bother but I could still carry something shouldn't I?
This is what I'm looking at right now...

Celebrity Wedding Photo Style..

As you know I have been waiting to get re-married for what feels like an eternity. I feel like I've abandoned this blog a little as I'm trying not to dwell on wedding planning until we can set an actual date. It's just depressing. But I feel like we're getting closer now so you may see more frequent updates here from now on.
I've been thinking about my priorities. We don't want a big wedding, by all accounts it would be classed as tiny. My dress is of course important, I want to look and feel great on the day and I think I found that early on (although I haven't tried it on it a while... must do that soon). My shoes.. again, important that I feel good in them but they don't need to be expensive and I have a couple of options that may fit. My hair and makeup will be given some extra time and consideration.. I will be doing trials on youtube and you guys can tell me what you like best.. I'm thinking of starting that soon. When I think of everything I have to do I'm not too worried. It can be put together at short notice with little effort. It's all very relaxed and casual, we will book when we can, we will invite few people, if they can make it then great, if not it doesn't matter, we're happy to go alone. So if none of that really matters then what does?
We go to city hall, we marry, we come home, we're husband and wife... that's it?
What do you have left? Photographs of course!
If I have only one thing I want it to be THE photograph.
The one that we can frame and hang on our wall for the rest of our lives, that we can hand down to our children, that will serve as a record of our wedding day.
I was married before, I did the whole big wedding, all the plans, all the money wasted and I got some great photographs, I never framed one of them. This time around I don't need all that, all I want is one beautiful shot that shows our love and happiness.
I have sourced the following celebrity wedding photos online for you guys to take a look at, they are exactly what I want. Of course in the real world it doesn't always work out the way you want but I would absolutely die for a photo of us like this to hang...

How gorgeous are they?
I am a jealous person, it's an ugly trait but I am. I am jealous of anyone with beautiful pictures such as these but I love to see them all the same so if you've posted pictures somewhere or have a blogpost to share please leave a link in the comments. I am excited to be married to Lee and excited to be able to announce a date to you all that we can finally do it. I'll keep you posted and will start hair and makeup looks very soon so watch this space.

XOXO

Choose Shoes...

So I've been looking for a pair of nude pumps or platforms forever to wear with the wedding dress I bought last year. At Christmas I found these gorgeous gold shoes on sale at Kurt Geiger and thought they would look pretty and should be comfortable.. they're KG after all! Since then I bought these far cheaper nude platforms from Next (£25) and I'm kinda leaning towards them now..

They are both gorgeous but which are more "weddingy"?
I know they're not like traditional wedding shoes but I am not wearing a traditional wedding dress, I'm going kinda retro/60s.
Here's the link to my dress post

So.. What do you guys think?
Gold or Nude? GOLD OR NUDE??
I think I'm pretty much gonna put everything up to a vote so this is the first of many choices you will be faced with.
Wedding ring post is to follow as I picked it up on Friday and it's beautiful.

DIVORCED!!!

So I'm officially divorced! I'm still waiting for my decree absolute but as and when it will be backdated to 20/01/11 so I'm divorced, right? I have deliberated, as you know, for MANY months about the destination of  our wedding but I think it will be Sheffield after all.. I am aiming for mid-April as Lee's divorce has only just gone to the court so hopefully that gives enough time for it to be sorted. I have so had my heart set on Vegas that I think we're gonna go for a Vegas themed after-party to make use of the many bits and pieces I have collected.
In other news I ordered my wedding ring today.. it will arrive next weekend so look out for a blogpost on that!
I also finally found Deborah Lipmans "Waking Up In Vegas" polish in my local House Of Fraser, it's new to the store and I nearly fell over when I saw it... very exciting times people, some of you may not be excited by a nail polish but this is the same shade Lady Gaga wore on the cover on Vanity Fair..
All this aside... it's £14 a bottle so I will be bitterly disappointed if it isn't the most amazing polish I've ever worn! I will of course be painting my nails and posting pics very very soon.

I will  be doing some wedding  hair and makeup trials/tutorials over the next month so I will post those here so you don't miss them. I'm very interested in your opinions on dress, shoes, accessories and the like, I might even put it to a vote.
I really can't wait to get married.. I know how crazy that must sound given I am only very recently divorced but this ones for keeps ;)

New Years Resolutions

I would love to say my New Years resolution for 2011 is to get married lol but that's not really a resolution is it? I should be divorced within a couple of weeks (finally) and then it's just a matter of waiting for Lee's which is a bit of a joke because his started before mine and he and his ex had a solicitor, me and mine did an online divorce... surely the solicitor led divorce would have been speedier? Anyway my main resolution is to try and relax. I am always in my head, I'm always over thinking things and I hate not being able to make plans, not knowing when I'll be divorced makes it tough to plan a wedding, however small! So I resolve to let things happen when they happen and stop stressing about it so much. There's nothing I can do to make it happen any quicker so why even give it any time? I can go through my ideas and such but part of my choosing Sheffield City Hall as a venue is that it can be spontaneous. As and when his divorce is granted we can get married 2 weeks later. We will book our holiday, I think we're leaning towards New York in May ..if we end up divorced around the same time maybe we'll do it there... otherwise it will be our honeymoon! I feel quite strongly that all the stress I'm causing myself by over thinking EVERYTHING is affecting our fertility as much as any other factor so I am going to stop. NOW!
What are your resolutions for the coming year? whatever they are I wish you the best of luck in keeping them up, I know how tough it can be but if you're resolving to change now it will be so rewarding to actually see that change through.
