Pregnant Bride?

I'm back again with more ridiculous mind changing! As Lee's divorce gets closer to being complete I find myself wondering if perhaps we could get married earlier... maybe even before the baby is born.
I've revisited the idea of Sheffield Register Office since I discovered the location has changed and there are some beautiful surroundings that would make for nice photos. My Dad is a bit of a photographer himself so he could take some pictures after the ceremony and he and my Mum could be our two witnesses. I feel that would encompass my wanting to do it as intimately as possible while not leaving my parents out and securing some memories for the wall. Here's my dilemma now. Is it just too tacky to be a pregnant bride? I do like the idea of a Christmas wedding, the children could both be there and I could have my figure back..however it would leave me just 6 weeks to get back into reasonable shape so would I rather be obviously pregnant or carrying residual baby weight? Not to mention how tired we're likely to be at that stage. I think if we're going to wait until the New Year we might as well just wait and do it in Vegas in March as planned but I just don't know if I'm going to want to wait once Lee is divorced. As is right now it's out of our hands but once we're both free to remarry it will be difficult to put it off.
At the end of the day we want to be married, why wait if we don't have to?
Over the next few weeks while we're waiting for news I'll be trawling through google images for inspiration but for the meantime.. here's a peek inside my mind...

It's BOOKED!

Well.. it's official... we have booked the trips to Vegas. I can tell you we will be visiting in March 2012 and I thought I'd share some photos of the hotel we finally decided on. We were umming and ahhing over so many but this one doesn't suck for location and the suites are just awesome so... it's done!
The Signature at The MGM Grand
When I went last I spent the majority of my days lazing by the pool and totally missed the whole Vegas experience so I don't intend to waste my time there this time. That being said that pool is epic and will no doubt draw me in once or twice. We can use all of the MGM facilities which is nice but the Signature is gated and everything there is reserved for hotel guests so in theory it will be quieter than the rest of the strip hotels. I think we're still set on The Chapel of The Bells for the wedding, I haven't seen anywhere I like more so that's that and the prices are really reasonable. We'll see, there's always time to change my mind.. we may not even book that in advance so it could be whatever we come across over there.
To say we are excited right now would be an under-statement. It feels like we have been waiting for this trip since we met so it will be so appreciated when it's finally here..
I bought another dress option recently so stay tuned for some pictures.. they will go up for the vote very soon!

Update

It occurred to me that out of all of my blogs I blog here possibly the least. This may be because it has the least followers... or perhaps that's the REASON it has the least followers?!
Anyway, I thought I'd do a quick update. Vegas is still the plan, I believe we're looking at the end of march 2012. The baby will be born at the end of November which gives me only 4 months of recovery time. I plan to deliver by c-section like my last birth but this means any exercise or strenuous activity of any kind will have to be put on hold for 6 weeks minimum leaving me with just 2 and a half months to shape up.. eek!
I've heard of lots of different techniques new Mums have tried to shed the lb's after the birth and I will be trying THEM ALL lol. Any you know of? Please share in the comments!!!
We are saving out pennies right now to get the holiday booked and we still have the stumbling block of Lee's divorce to get out of the way before we can say our own I do's but I'm trying to stay positive that that will be done in time... if not, worst case scenario we have a very nice vegas holiday and out off the wedding AGAIN! I'd like to point out at this time that this blog has been so indecisive and sparse for all of these months because divorce is so long winded and tricky when you're on a budget. Had we both been free and single we would have married a year ago but because we weren't it has really dragged on. It's been the source of a lot of frustration for me but I'm letting go now and planning anyway. I have looked at some alternative outfit ideas since I may not be able to squeeze myself in to a little dress. I'm looking at separates right now, a hold me in style skirt and a flowy top just in case I'm not totally back to my pre-baby figure yet.
I would love to see pictures from your weddings, if they were abroad or here, whatever! And if you have any experience of vegas weddings pictures form there would be even better!!!
I just thought I'd check in and let you all (All 42 of you lol) know that I haven't abandoned this blog it's just nothing blog-worthy is really happening right now but as soon as it does I will be here in a heartbeat!!!

Dress Dilemma... again

Some of you may remember I picked out a dress quite some time ago. It was a highstreet bargain from Next which would have suited a pregnant bride just in case! Now I will not be pregnant and we are definitely going to Vegas I decided I wanted something different. Here's the original dress (worn the other day after a year in storage)
It's a beautiful dress and all but I want something a bit more special.
Whenever I thought of our Vegas wedding I pictured something a little kitschy or 50s/Rockabilly

These are so cute, I'm sure you'll agree. I also have another option. A friend of mine bought me a dress for my birthday which would be very fitting for a vegas wedding...
It was from Topshop last season so probably only available on ebay now for those interested, I found a couple of celebs pictured wearing the dress to give you an idea of what it looks like on...
very different but all the same.. Something I'm definitely considering!
And wouldn't it go perfectly with these shoes..

What's everyones opinion on the outfit choices?
I'm so excited to start planning again and hopefully you're excited to follow me :)

Back on - Vegas or bust!

It was decided this week once and for all that the original Vegas plan is to go ahead or we're just not doing it. I can't get excited about doing it any other way. Various problems with Lee's divorce put things back time and time again and now I'm pregnant it really felt like the pressure was on to speed things up. In order to put all of those things aside and still do things the way we wanted to all along we have planned the trip for after the baby is born. April 2012! It will be booked this month... we are set on the chapel of the bells I think but the hotel is still up for discussion.
There is so much choice when it comes to Vegas hotels and it's a special occasion.. much research is needed to ensure we pick the one that wont disappoint! I want romance and opulence as well as location, a fantastic pool and all for a great price. I'm leaning towards to Signature hotel and the MGM Grand right now.. it's an all suite, non-gaming hotel that has received fantastic reviews on trip advisor.. I considered the Bellagio but it doesn't seem to be all that anymore. Last time I went I stayed at Caesars which was great but I'd like to try somewhere new so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I'm excited again that all of my previous planning and collecting hasn't gone to waste and when I'm good and pregnant I will have incentive to exercise and get back in to bikini body shape haha!

ON HOLD

I'm both sad and relieved to tell you that the wedding is on hold.
I am frustrated with the situation. I am now officially divorced but Lee is having no end of troubles with his. He is not in control as she is divorcing him but we are paying all of the costs. We have decided to get all of our money back and go on holiday.. once the baby is born we will start the proceedings again but he will be divorcing her so we will at least know what is going on. Without going in to all of the details it's taken a long time to get to the point where I just don't care anymore. I so wanted to be married before the baby was born but I don't want it like this. I want it to be special, I want to be able to PLAN!
So... that's it! done, no wedding, big or small. Possibly a very nice holiday though so... every cloud!
