THE ONE!

Apologies for the poor quality iPhone picture but I couldn't wait to post it! The dress arrived (available on ASOS here) and I am in love! It's perfect, fits so well and is just the right length. I will absolutely be wearing it with my hot pink KG heels (pictured). I can't believe I've finally found THE dress!

Runaway Dress

When I saw this dress on ASOS I couldn't help but be reminded of the dress Julia Roberts wore in Runaway Bride.. It's a sweet little dress and ANOTHER I'm ashamed to say I'm considering. I just want to find THE DRESS! The problem is I don't know what I'm looking for.. I'm just hoping to find it by chance on one of my many online browsing sessions.. unsuccessful thus far but this is a nice one!
It actually looks like a short wedding dress!

FYI : Until Monday 19/12/11 if you use code ASOSGRAZIA30 you'll get 30% off full priced items

What do you think?

Ultimate Budget Dress

I just picked this up from Primark for an unbelievable £17!!!! Obviously I had to share..
Unfortunately I'm at least a month away from being able to try it on so I'm keeping everything crossed that it fits nicely but worst case scenario... it was £17! Who cares?
It totally fits the bill for what I've been looking for, it's formal enough yet not a full on wedding dress, a conservative length, long sleeves for winter but they're sheer which stops it looking too dowdy. Perfect dress for a perfect price. Now to find some equally bargainous shoes....

What Dress Would HE Choose?

Earlier this year there was a feature in Brides Magazine where 3 girls were made over by their betrothed in the dress and style of their choosing. Ever since I have been meaning to do a post like this and after watching Don't Tell The Bride this evening it spurred me on. I never understand on those shows how the guy can get it so wrong. This is the person you're supposed to be "one" with.. how could you not know they would hate that big meringue? Anyway.. I sat Lee down with a dress gallery and got him to save all of the dresses he liked.. here they are

First of all you can't help but notice there's a lacey theme, right? Not something I'd have expected him to choose. They are all different in their own way but most are sleek in design and beautifully simple. I'm not keen on diamante and too much ruffle so there are a couple I perhaps wouldn't have chosen myself but I think I'd happily wear any of them down the aisle were they presented to me on the big day.
I am of course going to pick my favourites... they would have to be the top left and the one directly below it. Both so pretty and elegant. Now I don't intend to wear a big fancy dress to our wedding as it will be a low key affair but it's always fun to look and maybe now I'll look for something in lace...

I would recommend any engaged or open minded (don't want to scare him off) couple try this.. it's really fun and he might surprise you.

Dress Dilemma... again

Some of you may remember I picked out a dress quite some time ago. It was a highstreet bargain from Next which would have suited a pregnant bride just in case! Now I will not be pregnant and we are definitely going to Vegas I decided I wanted something different. Here's the original dress (worn the other day after a year in storage)
It's a beautiful dress and all but I want something a bit more special.
Whenever I thought of our Vegas wedding I pictured something a little kitschy or 50s/Rockabilly

These are so cute, I'm sure you'll agree. I also have another option. A friend of mine bought me a dress for my birthday which would be very fitting for a vegas wedding...
It was from Topshop last season so probably only available on ebay now for those interested, I found a couple of celebs pictured wearing the dress to give you an idea of what it looks like on...
very different but all the same.. Something I'm definitely considering!
And wouldn't it go perfectly with these shoes..

What's everyones opinion on the outfit choices?
I'm so excited to start planning again and hopefully you're excited to follow me :)

Choose Shoes...

So I've been looking for a pair of nude pumps or platforms forever to wear with the wedding dress I bought last year. At Christmas I found these gorgeous gold shoes on sale at Kurt Geiger and thought they would look pretty and should be comfortable.. they're KG after all! Since then I bought these far cheaper nude platforms from Next (£25) and I'm kinda leaning towards them now..

They are both gorgeous but which are more "weddingy"?
I know they're not like traditional wedding shoes but I am not wearing a traditional wedding dress, I'm going kinda retro/60s.
Here's the link to my dress post

So.. What do you guys think?
Gold or Nude? GOLD OR NUDE??
I think I'm pretty much gonna put everything up to a vote so this is the first of many choices you will be faced with.
Wedding ring post is to follow as I picked it up on Friday and it's beautiful.

TOPSHOP to the rescue?

I accidentally posted this on my beauty blog (oohps)
So I'm reposting here, where it's a little more relevent..

You guys know I have been on the look out for a warmer dress to wear incase we can get married in NYC in February (cold weather there dontcha know!) I had a really pretty dress picked out from next (budget!) and so I didn't want to spend a fortune but I wanted a similar style and I think I've found it. This is kind of a sheath/shift dress from good old topshop, retails around £50 if I rememer correctly and it's short with long sleeves (as the next one) but it's a much thicket material and it has some nice bridal bling..

Check out the cuff bling... can't go wrong!!
I plan to go back soon and try it on... will of course twitpic
(follow me on twitter @msbudgetbeauty)
and subsequently post on this blog...

Any suggestions welcome

NYC

I'm getting married in NYC

Ok Ok I know... I'm terrible!
I've almost definitely nearly made up my (our) mind(s) this time!
It's NYC all the way!
Providing we aren't poverty stricken in the meantime we should be able to book just after xmas to go early february. We'll be there for my birthday (4th) but be home before valentines so we could have a little party at home on valentines to celebrate with our close friends and family. I can't stress how much I don't want a big party!
Here's all the info I've found and the random videos I've been watching.
*****

The problem now lies with what to wear! I found the cute short dress that would accomodate a potential baby bump some time ago and it's been hanging in my wardrobe waiting ever since...

BUT..
New York in February is pretty darn cold! So what do you wear to get married alone (no guests) at city hall when it's freezing outside? Jeans and a sweatshirt? lol
No joke I was seriously going down the white jeans route for some time so I'm not ruling it out now.

Here are some options I'm looking at...

any suggestions of your own for me?

Wedding Dress Stress

Choosing your wedding dress should be something you only do once right? In my case.. no!
The first time around I had a big wedding but I didn't want to go for the big dress.
I had a lovely floor length ivory evening dress but it was no meringue.
This time around I just don't know what to wear!!!
It will be just the two of us and a very informal setting, I've even considered wearing jeans and tshirt.
I guess I'll hold on to the photos forever though so I need to put a little more thought in!
The two dresses below are my two choices right now, the first I recently bought from Next, thought it looked kinda cute and would work if I happened to fall pregnant before the big day...
The second is one I had a go at making myself, a retro number, but I don't know if it's nice enough for the day... It's not very wellmade... I'm barely a novice with a sewing machine lol.
On the jeans front I considered buying a really nice pair of white ones and embellishing the back pockets with my new initials...
I could spring for some designer shoes to "special up" the outfit lol
My next decision is hair and makeup but not until I've decided on the dress...
I'm swaying towards the cream flowy number myself but I'd love your opinions
